PearlHook collects only what it needs to run your account, take payment and create study cards, and never sells your data. Your study cards, notes and sessions stay in your browser on your computer. The text of a question page is used once to make your card and is not stored by us. This policy, posted at pearlhook.com/privacy, explains how PearlHook LLC ("PearlHook," "we") handles your information.
What we collect and why

- Your notes never leave your computer. They are not sent to AI or to our servers.
- Nothing is read before you answer. The extension only reads a question page after the question has been answered, and only the explanation page needed for your card.
- We don't use advertising trackers or sell analytics data. Our servers keep short-lived technical logs (such as error messages) to keep the Service working.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the companies that run parts of the Service for us, and only what each one needs:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or users' safety, or as part of a sale or merger of the business (the buyer would be bound by this policy).
We never sell your personal information, share it for advertising, or use it for anything unrelated to providing PearlHook.
Chrome Web Store. PearlHook's use of information it gets through the Chrome extension follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements: data is used only to provide and improve the extension's study features, is not transferred except as described here, and is never used for advertising or credit decisions.
Security
All connections use encryption (HTTPS). Sign-in codes and tokens are stored only in hashed form, and payment details stay with Stripe. Each account works on at most two computers. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
- See or correct your information: email support@pearlhook.com and we'll send what we hold about you or fix it.
- Delete your account: email support@pearlhook.com. We delete your account data within 30 days, except billing records we must keep for tax and accounting (usually up to 7 years).
- Your study history: it lives in your browser. Use "Export all sessions" to keep a copy; removing the extension deletes it from that computer.
- Emails: sign-in codes, receipts and plan reminders are part of the Service. If we ever send marketing emails, each will have an unsubscribe link.
- State privacy rights: depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado or Virginia), you may have rights to know, delete, correct or opt out of sale or targeted advertising. We don't sell data or run targeted ads, and we honor these requests from anyone by email.
We respond to requests within 30 days and may ask you to confirm the request from your account email.
Children
PearlHook is for adult students (18+). It is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Where data is processed
PearlHook is based in the United States. Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries where they operate, with appropriate safeguards.
Changes
We'll post any update here with a new date. For important changes, such as storing study cards on our servers for the mobile app, we'll email you or show a notice in the extension before the change applies.
